Last week, destructive wildfires raged across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, leaving a trail of devastation and misery. With the fires not yet fully contained, the aftermath looks grim: lives tragically lost, over 12,000 homes and businesses destroyed. Communities are in ruins, with many facing the loss of vital resources, such as the Altadena Senior Center, a cornerstone for providing critical programs and a gathering place for many seniors.
Recognizing the immense challenges so many will face over the next weeks and months because of this disaster — especially vulnerable older adults — AARP Foundation has created a relief fund to support the victims of the Los Angeles-area wildfires. To meet their needs, AARP will match — dollar for dollar — contributions up to a total of $500,000.
AARP Foundation, our charitable affiliate, will direct 100 percent of all funds raised to organizations that are providing relief and assistance to disaster victims. If you are in a position to help, contribute now to double your gift and your positive impact. Every dollar will make a difference.
