You've seen the headlines. Iran is on the brink—massive protests, violent crackdowns, internet blackouts, reports of over 50,000 executed.
Help The Persecuted has boots on the ground in Iran right now. We’re not reporting from afar—our team is standing firm on the ground. They’re telling us that this is the most dangerous moment they've ever faced:
"The atmosphere throughout the country is one of terror, silence, and waiting for death…many families do not know whether their loved ones are alive, detained, or buried in mass graves."
Just days ago, after the internet blackouts lifted, we reconnected with them. What they shared was horrifying:
- Terrifying scenes of violence—military forces firing heavy weapons indiscriminately into crowds
- Streets covered in blood. Firetrucks had to be used to wash it away.
- A man injured in a protest was discovered to be a Christian…his family was arrested.
- Secret executions and mass graves
Yet even now, God is moving.
Before 1979, there were only a few hundred Muslim-background believers in Iran. Today, there may be over 2 million. Dr. Sasan Tavassoli, an Iranian who fled the nation and came to faith in Christ, recently told us on our podcast: "Jesus is running around loose in Iran."
The situation is evolving by the hour—but Christians continue to cling to God, refusing to deny their faith.
They are suffering, serving, and standing firm—and they're asking the Global Church to stand with them. How do we do that? Two ways:
- Pray – pray for peace in the nation, comfort for families, and protection for persecuted Christians
- Give — your gift today keeps our team on-the-ground in Iran, helping Christians in one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
