The 2026 Market Forecast

The S&P 500 Index finished out 2025 with a 16% increase...

This marks the third year in a row of double-digit gains for the index. In 2023 and 2024, it rose 24% and 23%, respectively.

Now, this leaves us with a couple questions... What's in store in 2026? Will it be another year of double-digit growth?

Leading wealth-management firm LPL Financial doesn't seem to think so. It reports that as of mid-December, the average S&P 500 price target for the end of 2026 is just 6% above where 2025 ended.

The experts at Vanguard explained the reason for the relatively lackluster growth...

For U.S. equities in 2026, we expect a continuation of the recent past, where returns are solid, driven by rising earnings growth... But let us be clear: Risks are growing amid this exuberance.

While the 6% increase in the S&P 500 is possible by year-end, it's very likely that there will be much volatility along the way.

And my friend Marc Chaikin – a man with more than 50 years of market experience – is warning you to prepare your portfolios now. It all has to do with a rare market signal he calls the "January Trigger"...

Dating back to 1950, this indicator has a 100% record of forecasting what comes next in the U.S. stock market. Most importantly, Marc believes we could be days away from this trigger flashing again.

That could leave millions of unsuspecting investors blindsided... Yet for those who understand what's happening, it could give you a chance to take advantage of one of the biggest wealth-building windows of the decade.

Marc has consistently found winners across bull and bear markets – while avoiding catastrophic losses – with the help of his Chaikin Power Gauge system.

This Thursday, January 8, Marc is hosting an online event to cover all of this pressing information. He'll dive into the significance of the January Trigger, what it could mean for your portfolio, and how you can prepare.

Plus, just for tuning in, you'll hear one stock Marc recommends you buy today and one stock he thinks you should stay away from.

This event is free to attend, but you must sign up ahead of time. If you're interested in uncovering potential winners no matter what the broader market does next, you should check it out. You can get all the details here.

Reader suggestion of the week...

I read today's Health & Wealth with tips for beating back pain. Doc asked for tips that have worked for us subscribers.

My first full time job after engineering grad school was at GM in a transmission factory. I ended up pounding the concrete [floors] for 12 hour days (I'm a fast and hard walker) and walked about 20 miles on some days.

My back was as stiff as a sheet of plywood. After trying all sorts of solutions, including chiropractic care, I realized I simply need to strengthen my core and stretch my hamstrings.

I read that our stomach should support our backs. So I started sucking in my stomach every minute of my waking day. An article said to imagine there is a string connected to our belly button pulled through our back...

I've been doing stretches for probably 15 years now every morning and can't miss them or I'm stiff.

I've gone through some learning also that I was causing issues by sleeping on my side. When I did this, I twisted my upper body relative to my lower body. And it caused a lot of issues.

I learned from YouTube about our psoas muscle and a bunch of stretches to keep it loose. My go-to stretch for when my back is in pain after sleeping wrongly is to stand next to my dining room table, with the front of my legs about 18 inches from the table edge. Then I take one foot and put it flat on the table and move it a good distance toward the other side of the table. Then I rock forward and hold for 30 seconds and repeat this 10 times. Then I twist my upper body as far to the left as I can and repeat the same stretch sequence. Finally, I rotate my upper body as far as I can to the right and repeat the sequence of lunging forward and rocking my leg with my fixed foot position far out in front of me.

This is a magic stretch that fixes me every time. – K.M.

Trump's Next Real Estate Deal Could Pay YOU

President Donald Trump's real estate deals have returned as much as 4,800%. That's enough to turn every $1,000 into $49,000. But his next "real estate deal" is different – and much bigger. It involves federal assets worth an estimated $5.1 trillion. And any American citizen can stake their claim. The mainstream media is largely ignoring this, but a former Trump adviser just went on the record. Get the full details here.
