Is Anthropic really worth more than SpaceX? |
One early SpaceX investor named Gavin Baker says YES. And he’s predicting the upcoming IPO could value the company at $3 trillion. |
Go here to secure your stake – at a discount to the IPO price. |
You could say I’m bullish on SpaceX (Nasdaq: SPCX). |
I bought the stock at the $135 IPO price in June. I added a bit to my position in July. And I bought more SPCX earlier this week. |
Everyone knows this was the largest IPO in history. The IPO was priced at $135 on June 12. It opened at $150 and ran to $225.64. By August 3 it had fallen below $105 per share. And the stock has now rebounded to around $140. |
It’s been a violent round trip. |
Yet we also saw an impressive quarterly earnings report in August. |
Start with Starlink. It's the only part of this company currently making money, and it ended June with 12 million customers. That's double a year ago, and up 1.7 million in a single quarter. |
Connectivity produced $4.3 billion of revenue last quarter and about $1.7 billion of operating income. Enterprise and government revenue grew 108% year over year, roughly twice the pace of consumer. |
Want to buy the next mega IPO? Here’s how to get started. |
Total company revenue hit $7.8 billion, up 92%. That came in about 15% ahead of Wall Street’s consensus estimates. |
Management says the company can exit December at a $100 billion annualized revenue run-rate. |
Q2 was running near $31 billion. |
That's a 3x step-up in six months. |
There are a few positive developments at SpaceX since the earnings report: |
· $60 billion Cursor acquisition is closed |
· Starship Louisiana launch complex planned |
· Orbital AI timeline moved up to 2027 |
Here’s what convinced me to add to my position. |
Cheap mass to orbit is the only durable moat in this industry. SpaceX flew 165 Falcon missions last year and passed 100 flights this year by August. One booster has flown 37 times. Nobody else is close. Amazon's Kuiper has bought launches from SpaceX. |
Rockets launch satellites. Satellites bill customers every month. That cash funds bigger rockets and more compute. Then the whole cycle gets cheaper. |
Morgan Stanley's Adam Jonas seems to agree. He rates the stock Overweight with a $300 price target, roughly 113% above today's price. He calls it attractively valued at 10x sales on his 2028 estimates, and says investors don't appreciate the scale of the planned $100 billion Louisiana launch complex. |
SpaceX stock is looking cheaper as the company’s growth accelerates. If we look forward to 2028 projections – the stock is trading at roughly 10x sales and 38x earnings. |
That’s a reasonable valuation for a company that’s expected to double its revenues next year. |
Silicon Valley insiders are NOT buying IPOs. They secure shares months or years before a stock goes public – at a deep discount. |
Right now, you can invest in Anthropic, OpenAI and dozens of other private companies preparing to go public. |
