Is (Nasdaq: ZENA) One Of The Most Overlooked Defense Drone Names Right Now?

October 7th

Dear Reader,

Jam the signal. Spoof the satellites. In modern conflict, that is often the first move. And a drone that leans on GPS can turn into a very expensive paperweight.

That problem sits at the center of the newest milestone from ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA).

Its ZenaDrone subsidiary has moved its quantum navigation system into the testing phase, starting with the IQ Nano in non-GPS settings before field trials on the heavy-lift ZenaDrone 1000.

Defense media picked it up fast. The Defense Post reported that testing is underway at ZenaDrone’s Sharjah, UAE facility, framing the system as a backup for when GPS fails.

The market behind it is no rounding error. Fortune Business Insights projects that quantum navigation systems market could grow from about $1.3Bn in 2026 to $7.4Bn by 2034.

Here’s what separates ZenaTech from a pure prototype profile: revenue.

The company just posted Q2 2026 revenue of C$9.3Mn, up 316% year over year, marking its seventh straight quarter of sequential growth.

The balance sheet is keeping pace. Cash and marketable securities reached C$34.6Mn at June 30th, more than double the year-end level, while total assets climbed 50% to C$149.2Mn, according to the same filing.

Inside the Room: What Management Is Saying

Dr. Shaun Passley founder, chairman, and ZenaTech CEO, didn’t soften the stakes.

Reliable flight when satellite signals are degraded or spoofed is, in his words, “a mission-critical requirement for modern defense operations.” He added that redundant, layered navigation will be essential as the ZenaDrone 1000 is fielded for defense work.

The Q2 discussion, summarized by Quartr, pointed the same direction. Management highlighted Blue UAS certification progress, new counter-UAS platforms, and expansion into Australia, South Korea and the UK.

The push toward customers is already visible.

ZenaDrone began scheduling U.S. government defense demonstrations in July, starting with the IQ Nano, and cy-ber testing across three platforms is a required step on the road to procurement eligibility.

About ZenaTech: Three Engines, One Platform

ZenaTech calls itself an AI autonomy drone platform company.

ZenaDrone builds the hardware. The Drone as a Service segment, nearly 93% of Q2 revenue, acquires land survey, inspection and power washing firms and moves their work onto drones.

Each closed deal brings a customer list on day one, and drones aim to cut the cost per survey and per job, which management believes can expand margins as integration progresses.

The Enterprise SaaS division supplies business software, recently expanded with NOW Solutions and ESM. Manufacturing runs across Mesa, Arizona; Sharjah, UAE; and Taipei, Taiwan, giving the company more control over airframes, components and sensors.

The roll-up is the cash register. ZenaTech closed 20 acquisitions in 2025, reached 24 DaaS deals by June 30th, and then closed its 29th with Georgia-based Merritt Paul, adding licenses in 17 states and solar and railroad clients.

The Shift: Building a Counter-Drone Arsenal

Navigation is one piece. ZenaTech is assembling an integrated counter-UAS system.

The ZenaDrone 2000 is a gas-powered heavy-lift interceptor built to launch from land bases, coastlines and vessel decks. It pairs with the IQ Glider marine launch and refueling station and the Interceptor P-1, a low-cost, one-way interceptor now in flight testing.

Production is expanding, too. Through Lviv-based Phoenix Aero, ZenaTech is setting up counter-UAS and interceptor manufacturing in Ukraine, with Gulf state defense markets in its sights.

Wildfire is another front: ZenaTech filed five U.S. provisional patents covering acoustic fire suppression and aerial wildfire assessment for the ZenaDrone 1000, aimed at a firefighting drone market projected to reach almost $2.8Bn by 2033.

6 Potential Catalysts Keeping (Nasdaq: ZENA) Front and Center

#1. Quantum Navigation Testing Targets GPS-Denied Defense Missions. Successful field trials could potentially give (ZENA) a differentiated edge in contested environments.

#2. Canada Named ZenaTech A Qualified Defence Drone Supplier. A Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) selection lets (ZENA) compete for future Canadian defense requirements, though no contract has been a-warded yet.

#3. U.S. Tariffs Of Up To 100% On Imported Drones. Management at (ZENA) has said it anticipates a competitive advantage for ZenaDrone as tariffs raise costs on imported drones and parts.

#4. In-House Circuit Boards Support NDAA Compliance Goals. PCB flight testing from its Taiwan subsidiary advances the vertical integration (ZENA) is pursuing for Blue UAS certification.

#5. Ukraine Production Arm Aimed At Gulf Defense Markets. Lviv-based Phoenix Aero gives (ZENA) a dedicated counter-UAS and interceptor production effort targeting Gulf state customers.

#6. A Revenue Base That Funds The Defense Ambitions. First-half revenue of C$17.7Mn gives (ZENA) an operating business beneath its prototype pipeline, per the Q2 release.

The Takeaway

Let’s be clear. Most of ZenaTech’s defense work is still in testing, and the company booked a C$22.5Mn Q2 net loss while building it. Weigh that.

But few small caps combine a growing services revenue base with counter-drone, quantum navigation, and Blue UAS efforts all moving at once.

Keep ZENA on your watchlist as flight test results and certification updates land.
